Healing Trauma Through Breath

Breathing is the first thing we humans do when we come out of the womb & the last thing we do when we die.

We need Air to breathe & to live. To gain clarity of thoughts, feelings, feel alive, we need to invigorate our being with air. It is essential to clear our lungs & circulate our auric field with fresh air.

In the process of transformation, Breathwork is an indispensable tool. When we commit to daily breathwork practice, we rid our body, mind & whole being from past traumas that we call body memory.

This body memory can cause us to repeat old patterns, pain, disease & other ailments. Breathwork helps us access deep memories trapped inside of us. Once we feel it we can move it, release it & be free of it.

Last week, as I was performing my daily breath work, a painful memory from the past surfaced. I saw myself nine months pregnant, my 2-year-old was running around witnessing the domestic violence that was going on. I remembered vividly crying, feeling like I was going to vomit. I didn’t want to raise my children in this kind of environment!

I breathed into the memory, felt it & went deep into it. I wept, accessing layers of these memories, breathing them out of my body memory. When I was complete, I experienced an enormous sense of relief, profound peace & freedom.

Breathing isn’t a novelty, it’s an essential response to staying alive. It is also a huge healing tool for transformation.

By bringing more oxygen into your mind & body, you connect with the life that is you. It stimulates the endocrine system by expelling carbon dioxide at a very high rate. It raises your blood PH level making it alkaline, reducing inflammation in your joints and creating the right chemistry in your body. It both activates and relaxes the nervous system to attain balance & ease.

Loving compassionate breath in these times of uncertainty. I am here to support you in your process of transformation.
